Scripture:

Have you ever heard someone say you are the spittin’ image of your dad?  Pastor, author, Walter Wangerin shares a memorable story in his book The Chronicles of Mis’ Lil. 

Another prolific writer and post-modern preacher, Dr. Leonard Sweet writes in one of his books, Quantum Spirituality that Starved and stunted souls, restless and unearthed are searching for the touch that will turn them on , the taste that will fill them up, the spark that will catch them on fire.

The third chapter of Ephesians gives us a prayer that Paul offers on the behalf of the Ephesian followers of Christ.  I must confess and wonder that Paul has some fears that some of the Christ followers are losing their “spit”!  They may be slowly turning to religious stone.  Verses 14 – 19 showcase a prayer that is for the ages!  Paul prays for their and our animation in Christ.  How do we turn our inanimate religious stones into animated spiritual humans?
